P.A System Sabbath - God Knows Us as Honest Servants, We Only Disappoint Him
God Knows Us as Honest Servants, We Only Disappoint Him – P.A System Sabbath
The Public Address (P.A.) System Department led out in worship, and what a day it was. The department members looked marvellous and united in their new maroon uniforms, a color that gave the premises a fresh vibrance. Alongside them, extra instrumentalists joined in, filling the service with uplifting music that set the tone for unusual praise and worship.
Worship came through a powerful sermon by Elder Kagolo Ivan, titled : “Tulowozebwa nga tuli besigwa.” drawing from Exodus 17, Numbers 12:3, and Hebrews 6:10, Elder Kagolo reminded us that leadership and service in God’s work often come with trials, criticism, and discouragement but faithful servants press on because their reward comes from God, not from people.
He highlighted how, just like Moses, leaders are often criticised when things go wrong yet rarely thanked when things go well. Moses himself asked the Israelites whether he was in charge of providing them with water, showing that the responsibility for God’s work is not on one person but on the whole congregation. In a memorable ask, when asked who is responsible for the faults in church, the congregation responded with the word “Ffe” meaning “us” or “me.” This confession reminds us that the success or failure of the church lies in the collective service of its members, not on the shoulders of a few leaders.
Referencing Hebrews 6:10, the sermon reassured us that “God is not unjust; He will not forget the work you have done or the love you have shown.” and that no assignment from God is beyond our ability, He equips every servant He appoints. The only true failure is when we neglect our duty or disappoint by falling short of the standard He expects of us.
Elder Kagolo concluded by reminding us that the work of God should never rest on a few shoulders. It must be shared, so that the mission can advance quickly and strongly. Like Moses, who endured stuttering speech and the sting of criticism but never gave up, we too must remain patient, humble, and faithful. Above all, we are encouraged to always ask ourselves before criticising others: “Have I been a faithful and honest servant myself?”
While worship was going on, elsewhere there was also joy in heaven as baptism took place at Kasangati Prison. Lives were surrendered to Christ, and we thank the church family for standing behind this important outreach with your support in finances.
