Fasting and Prayer Dedicating Our lives to Christ
Dear Beloved Members,
Happy New Year! We trust that this message finds you in good health and high spirits as we embark on a new year filled with hope, faith, and the promises of God's abundant blessings. Stepping into 2024, let us take a moment to reflect on the meaningful and spiritually enriching gathering we had on the first Tuesday of the month of January at SDA church Kyankima.
The continued tradition and habit of fasting and prayer once again was held at SDA Church Kyankima on the 2nd of January 2024, where the Women's Ministry of Kyanja District as usual organised a day devoted to seeking the face of the Lord. The atmosphere was charged with reverence and anticipation as attendees gathered to dedicate the first Tuesday of the month to the Almighty.
The event featured five keynote speakers, (Ev Muhanguzi Eric, Eld Bbosa Godfrey, Eld Gakyeli Pascal, Eld Ssebalu Richard, and Eld Lubaale Erisa) each delivering powerful messages that resonated with the new year. The central theme echoed throughout the messages was the significance of using our time and resources wisely basing on Ramans 12. The speakers emphasised that the proper utilisation of our time helps to open our eyes to the power of God.
A key takeaway from the messages was the importance of obedience to the Lord. It was reiterated that a life filled with happiness and blessings is a direct result of our obedience to God's commandments. As we navigate the challenges of the year ahead, the call to remain steadfast in our commitment to the Lord was loud and clear.
The speakers also issued a cautionary message, urging believers to be earnest and vigilant in prayer. Recognising the inevitable temptations that life presents, the congregation was encouraged to turn to prayer as a source of strength and guidance. The conviction that genuine and persistent prayer fortifies our spiritual amor was a recurring theme. In a thought-provoking segment, the congregation was prompted to reflect on the motives behind attending church. The question posed was, "What brings us to church?" The answers varied, but the underlying message was clear – our presence in the house of God should be driven by a sincere desire to draw closer to Him and to worship in spirit and truth. The speakers encouraged believers to align their goals and aspirations with God's plan, seeking His guidance in all aspects of life.
As we embark on this new year, let us carry the lessons from the fasting and prayer event with us. May the teachings on time management, obedience, prayer, and sincere worship guide our actions and decisions throughout 2024.
Lastly we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Women's Ministry of Kyanja and leaders of SDA church Kyankima for organising this spiritually uplifting event and making it a habit. Let us continue to grow in faith, love, and unity as we journey together in the year ahead.
Blessings,
Tumwebaze Alex
