"Transformation Through Baptism: A Day of Spiritual Renewal at Kyanja District Camp Meeting"

From Kyanja District, today’s update is from the 6th day (Friday, 8th September) of the camp meeting in Kyanja District, part of the East Kampala Zone of the Central Uganda Conference. As we drew closer to the climax of this spiritual gathering, today was marked by inspirational messages, baptisms, and community visits. 

The 6th day of the camp meeting witnessed an inspiring message delivered by the main speaker, Pastor Ssekitto Noah. He emphasised the need for transformation in the lives of Christians after baptism. Pastor Noah stressed that a baptized individual should not only receive God's grace but actively participate in the Christian journey through prayer, helping others, and preaching the gospel.

 

"Baptism is just the beginning. After baptism, we are called to a life of service, to pray without ceasing, to help those in need, and to share the word of God."

 

Putting these words into practice, Pastor Abwire Robert of Kyanja District took a significant step. He went into the waters and baptised 44 individuals, young and old, who had made the decision to embark on a new journey in Christ.






 

Later in the day, Pastor Ssekitto Noah was joined by his co-speaker, Evangelist Gadala Enos. Together, they visited several churches in the district, including the SDA Church in Kasangati, Kyankima, Nangabo, and Namavundu. Their visits aimed to strengthen the theme of family life and foster a sense of unity among church members.

 

In a bid to bring couples closer to God and each other, Pastor Noah and Evangelist Gadala Enos held an intimate discussion and mentoring session with couples from the district. This session was designed to create a strong bond among couples, encouraging them to draw closer to God together.


In other activities, eligible members in the camp meeting also donated blood as a way of spreading love and kindness, this was conducted by the RedCross.

Men’s Affair and Get-Together

The Adventist Men Ministry of  SDA Church Kasangati held a special Men’s Affair and Get-Together , drawing participants from Bulamu, Kyankima and Namavundu for a full-day session of fellowship, learning and spiritual reflection at Victor’s Valley Hotel in Nakwero. The gathering, aimed at strengthening men’s spiritual and social roles in their families and communities, featured Elder Kibuuka Robert as one of the keynote speakers. His message, delivered with a mix of humour and firm counsel, centered on responsibility, discipline and financial stewardship among men. God calls each of us for a purpose

20th September was a special sabbath as the global church celebrated World Pathfinder Day marking 75 years of Pathfinders serving strong. Here, the day kicked off with a flag-raising ceremony, led by Pathfinders smartly dressed in their full uniform. Their yellow and vibrant green set the tone for a joyful Sabbath of worship, service, and celebration. The sermon by Nsereko Enoch centred on 1st Samuel 16:7, reminding us that “man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” The preacher illustrated this with the example of Mr. Lubinga Godfrey, the first elder of the church.
